"In February of 2017, in order to continue the discourse and exchange, SEDIMENT hosted an open call for works and messages that responded to the sociopolitical climate. After the election, after the inauguration, after the marches, we as creative practitioners have a need to be in dialogue more than ever. Using the gallery as a platform and space of meditation, we invited artists and writers to reflect on these past weeks. 34 participating artists marked this time of action and shared their voices of anger, confusion, hope, humor, and resistance.
Our hope is that the works in this publication serve to not only remember this time, including the conflict and struggle, but that YOU, the reader of this publication, can find inspiration towards positive change that is focused on inclusivity, love, truth, and creativity."
